! E94.0508.03 SKU 11(3):58 Prince George Co Gen Soc Bulletin 24(6):120-122. Feb 1993: Page 256: ³Robert SKINNER settled in Calvert Co. during the Puritan era, probably about 1658. [He is not found in Skordas, Early Settlers of Maryland.] Robert SKINNER married Ann, the widow of James TRUMAN. His plantation, called ³The Reserve,² originally ³Trumanıs Reserve,² is situated on the road leading from Prince Frederick to Dareıs Wharf. He also secured grants of adjacent tracts called ³Border² and ³Scrapp.² He died in 1686 and named his eldest son Robert as guardian for his younger sons, Clark, William, and Adderton SKINNER. His will also mentions his daughter Mary, the wife of Joseph LETCHWORTH, and his daughter, Elizabeth, the wife of Thomas GREENFIELD.² [Charles Stein, History of Calvert Co, Md., p. 311; MCW 2:8. Daughter Elizabeth GREENFIELD is not named there, only a son-in-law Thomas GREENFIELD.] The oldest son, Robert, must be the man who married Ann MACKALL.
