His mother Emily Perrin Skinner was very religious, and lived to a very old
age. She was found dead on the floor, her face covered as if in preparation
for the change. She had been confined to her room for a time before her
passing, because of mental weakness being a result of advanced age..
He became estranged from his wife in Canada, after she threw his bible
down to the ground. James was a very religious man. Hewent to Keya Paha
County Nebraska in 1896 or 1897 to live with his brother William Andrew
Skinner. He lived there until his death in 1898. Had ten children with his
wife Jane.
