Notes

!Š..Skinner, Todd (09/2001) Mary met Harvey while working at a boarding house for teachers. Harvey was a ranch hand and would come see Mary on his one weekend a month off from the ranch ( I believe that Mary said that they were in Montana at the time). He would talk to her as she was doing the laundry out back of the boarding house. After several months of courting they decided to get married. They quit their jobs and took the train to Everett, Washington Where Harveys family was. They were met by Harveys dad John Henry Skinner and his wife Emma. Their first night in Everett was spent at a hotel that overlooked the waterfront of Port Gardner Bay. (Everett was still a town in its infancy when all this took place). The next day they were married by a Justice of the Peace. They spent their first few months living with Harveys parents in the town of Granite Falls (John had a home along the Pilchuck River). Harvey went to work at a local Mill cutting logs into lumber for homes. Info from Mary Herzog Skinner a few months prior to her death. Came to the U.S.A. October 20 1906 on the Ship ELIZABETH with her mother, brother, and two sisters
