Ben moved with his parents in 1855 to Michigan when he waws 3 years old.
and later to Henry, Marshal County, Illinois where they made their home
until the mother died.
Benjamin lived at Greenfield, Iowa and farmed. Then to Breckenridge,and
farmed there, then to Scranton, Ohio and farmed. Moved to Lawson,
Missouri and farmed.

Benjamin Franklin Skinner Diary
Monday Feb. 1877: Bill and me piled a cord of wood and came to the city
(Nebraska City) and bummed around all day.
July 16 1877: Tom and me left the city for Red Oak. We found Bill there.
Did not find any work. Stayed in the timber all night,
June 18 1877: Tom left us, went back to the city. Bill and me hired out to
make hay for a man name of Law for a dollar a day.
Tues. Sept 4 1877: Loaded up today for Mortons. Duck and Harve Markley
came over today.
Wed. Sept 5 1877: Tom and Duck and myself started this morning for
Ashland on the Platte River.
Tues. Sept 18 1877: We sold out today Wahoo today and camped close to
the wahoo in some stacks.
Wed Sept 28 1877: I loaded up today with 40 bu of apples and stayed at
Pa's all night
Thurs. Oct 4: Finished loading up. Bill and me started with a load of apples
for Wahoo.
Benjamin raised a lot of peaches in his orchard Albert Skinner remembers
that, Ben dried some of them and sent the folks about 50lbs of dried
peaches.
