Page 362, Volume I Valued information about this soldier has been preserved for us in Judge E. T. Footešs Historical Papers relating to Chautauqua County, Vol. VII, p. 19. Here we find that Jesse Skinner was born in Sharon, Connecticut, 6 March 1750; and in the summer of 1775, at age 15 years [however, 1775-15=1760 ed.], he enlisted at New Lebanon, New York, ŗin the army in pursuit of Sir John Johnson inn the winter of 1775-1776, went to Johnstown, New York, and made Sir John Johnson prisoner and paroled Sir John taking 12 hostages to Albany for his good behavior.˛ He made application or a soldieršs pension 12 October 1832, then a resident of Busti. He moved from New Lebanon, New York, to Unadilla, New York, in 1813 and lived there four years before arriving in Busti in 1817. At a date not known he moved to Ohio and died there.
