He married Anna Mollie Chase - Polly - widow of Joshua Clark of Long
Island, and daughter of Philip and Sarah (Cushman) Chase.
He organized the first Masonic Lodge in Damascus Township, Wayne
County, Penn., the third in that part of the country, and he named it St.
Tammany's Lodge. He was the first Justice of the Peace commissioned in
Wayne Co. In 1801 he was assessed as owning two houses, twenty acres
of improved land, and a slave valued at fifty dollars. He was also a
merchant, an innkeeper and the possessor of a span of horses and two

Contemporary Records: August 17, 1793 - Daniel Skinner and his wife,
Lillert Skinner, to Reuben Skinner for 40 pounds, 17 shillings, Upper
Smithfield, on the west bank of the river Delaware, 10 acres. - Wayne
