Reuben Beasley, son of John Beasley Sr., of Craven Co., N. C. and
Darlington Co., S.C., was a member of Nathan Grantham's church on
Newman's Swamp in 1816- 1822 according to the M-E Journal of that
time period. Copy of Journal in possession of compiler, D. K.
Reuben was said to have married Ester_________(could be Purvis or
Chambliss - no proof to date).
He is named"son"in his father's will of 1808, Darlington Co.,S.C.
He signed on several documents both of John, Sr. and one or two of
John Jr.'s.
It is possible that he moved from Darlington to Pulaski Co.,Ark.,
Prairie TWP, dwl 205-204 with Margaret Barnes, age 56, b. S.C.
Others in H.H. were: Catherine 30; Margaret 20; Reuben 19;Ellen
and/or Susan? 3.
Next door to them was Reuben Beasley and his family, son of John
Beasley, Sr. of Darlington, S.C. This information from Mrs. Suzanne
Jackson of Little Rock, Ark, who descends from Abram (Abraham), son
of John Beasley, Sr. If this is correct, then Reuben, son of John Sr.
would have been a very old man---at least 89 or older. Census copies
would be helpful.
